Wanona is CEO and Founder of Mākhers Studio, a green manufacturing and modular design-build company. Mrs. Satcher leads a team of architects, engineers, contractors, and tradesmen and tradeswomen in her 25,000sf factory in Atlanta, GA to build and deploy innovative and sustainable shipping container real estate and workforce development solutions. Her company partnerships include local and regional government officials, housing authorities, real estate developers, veterans’ organizations, land trusts, tech investors, and renewable energy companies. She is a graduate of Auburn University (College of Architecture, Design, & Construction) with dual degrees in a Master of City Planning and a Master of Landscape Architecture. She also graduated from the Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business Diversity Business Program. Her 18-year professional career is a combination of urban design, land use policy, civic engagement, science, and project management. Mrs. Satcher has written for the Huffington Post and participated in both the CityLab-Aspen Institute and Bloomberg Philanthropies National Innovation Program. Wanona was featured in Inc Magazine, Forbes Magazine and was a Next City Vanguard and SOCAP Game-Changing Founder of Color. Mrs. Satcher is a Senior Fellow through the Summit Series and a Forbes Next 1000 Honoree.
